Tuesday’s Tune

Leon Bridges is coming to Toronto’s Massey Hall this week and I am again regretting not getting tickets. Great venue and a great voice. Here’s A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque. They have a way of capturing these intimate musical moments that have the ability to transport you. #currentmood #leonbridges

Friday’s Food Feature

Did you know I love to eat? It’s true. I pretty much love all types of food. At the top of that very long list is tacos. I love that Toronto has had a mexican food boom over the past few years. I have had the pleasure of eating at El Catrin, Seven Lives, Milagro and and Wilbur Mexicana. I know the list is short but that just means I have so many delicious days ahead of me.

Wilbur Mexicana was my most recent visit. I loved their tacos. You order up at the front cash and then they bring you your food. If you order the freshly made chips there’s an entire salsa bar with different toppings that you can indulge in. The ghost pepper sauce is my favourite! An extra bonus is that the tacos come double wrapped so I usually take advantage of the salsa bar and make a little veggie taco. There’s just too much goodness to pass up. Check them out if you have the chance.

What’s your favourite taco spot in the city?

TUESDAY’S TUNE

It’s not often when a new artist can cover a classic and have their version be just as good. Love this one, especially the piano. How do you think it compares to Whitneys’ version?

TUESDAY’S TUNE (ON WEDNESDAY)

A guy and his guitar. Simple, clean songwriting by South African Matthew Mole.

March ‘Grams

March was full of creativity. My obsession with hand lettering continued as I purchased some new ink and kept the brush script practice flowing. I still need to carve out some time during the week to get back to pen and nib practice though. On the digital side I continued my alphabet project from last month with six new letters seen below.

I also signed up for a lino carving workshop hosted by Ligatures YYZ at the historic Coach House Press. The place felt magical with paper and books and old linotype machines. I fell in love with the chair by the window upstairs. I wish I had had a better camera with me that day to capture it’s charm. The workshop was great. Seen here is a little fun I had today customizing one my zebra prints.

Finally, the pic of the month for my Instagram feed went to this piece. It’s simple but I think it got the most response because we’re all just suckers for a little love.
